The importance of having nutrition becomes clear when you are no longer worried about yourself and more important than yourself you are worried about the child that lives inside you. During pregnancy, mothers are more careful about their nutrition and consult their doctor or research the smallest thing. One of these foods is cashews and we need to know if cashews are harmful during pregnancy or not.

What are the health benefits of cashews during pregnancy?

  • Full of magnesium, it prevents muscle cramps, headaches, and migraines.

Peanuts are a good source of iron, which helps in the production of red blood cells and also fights fatigue and anemia. Folic acid prevents birth defects such as spina bifida in babies.

Peanuts are mainly beneficial for underweight women (pre-pregnancy BMI below 18.5), as women tend to gain weight during pregnancy, as these nuts are rich in calories and fat.

How much are pregnant women allowed to consume cashews during the day?

You can consume 30 grams of nuts every day, which is roughly equivalent to 10 to 15 cashews; which contains about 4 grams of protein, 9 grams of carbohydrates and 13 grams of healthy fat, 1.5 mg of iron, 73 mg of magnesium, 165 mg of potassium, 148 mg of phosphorus and various vitamins and minerals useful for the development of the fetus.

One of the most important and useful minerals in strengthening the body’s immune system during pregnancy is zinc. Pregnant women should consume 11 to 12 milligrams of zinc daily, one cashew contains 1.6 milligrams of zinc. Daily consumption of 90 micro milligrams of vitamin K is essential during pregnancy, this vitamin prevents bleeding and its necessity for the body cannot be ignored during this period; Each cashew provides 9.7 micro mg of vitamin K.
