how cashews are grown

Cashew, an evergreen shrub from the Anacardiaceae family, is cultivated commercially in Brazil and India. These seeds, rich in oil and with a distinctive flavor, are commonly used in South and Southeast Asian cuisine and are a staple in many South Indian chicken and vegetarian dishes. In Western countries, they are mainly consumed as high-quality protein-rich snack food. But what we are going to discuss in the rest of this article is how the peanut tree grows.

Planting a cashew tree in a greenhouse

Before planting, it is better to scrape the lower part of the seed coat with a knife; Then soak the seeds in water for 24 hours. Plant the seeds of the Indian almond fruit tree in sandy soil at a depth of 5 cm. Its germination usually takes 2 to 4 weeks. But it may be more. So don’t worry. In addition, the seeds can be planted in pots or directly in the ground. Keep the soil moist but not wet. If the seeds are planted in pots, after the cold weather, the seedlings can be transferred to the ground. It is better to use a fertilizer containing nitrogen, phosphorus, and zinc twice a year for cashew fruit seedlings.

Suitable soil for cashew tree

The cashew tree can grow in most soils and is resistant to drought, but it grows very well in well-drained soils. This tree does not like wet and heavy soils. Preferably, a place for planting this seedling should be considered, which protects from strong winds. This tree should not be placed at a temperature below 10 degrees Celsius. The ideal temperature for its growth is 25 degrees Celsius and it needs at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day.

Conclusion

Cultivation Cashews, which are popular nuts in the world, grow in tropical regions. The largest producing countries of this product are Vietnam and India, which produce significant amounts of cashews every year. Cashew nuts are a very good source of vitamin C, carbohydrates, phosphorus and calcium, protein, and fat. This nutritious seed kernel has countless properties that can provide the energy and materials needed by the body as a complete snack. Cashews are available in different types raw, roasted, salted, and seasoned in the markets.
